With around 11 months to go until the Salty Horror Film Festival will be going on in full force, there are a lot of things that still have to be planned out and solidified. Well, let’s just say that we’ve been busy.
It’s no secret that we here at the Cadaver Lab love Shawn Gabborin. First of all, he’s an awesome dude, and secondly, he’s a talented story writer and progenitor of Angry Gnome Comics! Angry Gnome Comics is an indie comic company with all original stories and artwork.
One of their most recent releases is the Short Stack Vol 5. If you’re asking yourself what pancakes have to do with comics, let me have Angry Gnome to explain what their definition of a Short Stack is:
1 Writer. 13 Artists. 2 Pages each. Angry Gnome
Comics is proud to present Short Stack! A
collection of 13 Two Page Gory Stories sure to
make you look twice at that shadow on the wall!
Monsters, Demons, Slashers and flat out screwed
up people are just a few of the terrors awaiting
you inside each issue of Short Stack!
With Short Stack Volume 5, there is actually some extra Cadaver Lab goodness! The cover story entitled The Duel actually star your humble hosts of the Cadaver Lab Podcast! We are so excited and honored to be a part, however small, of Angry Gnome! To celebrate this awesome occasion, we’re going to be giving away 5 copies of Short Stack vol 5 autographed by Shawn Gabborin himself!
However, since you’re going to want to keep your signed copy in perfect condition and it’s impossible to get the Short Stack and not get your grubby hands on it as you read it over and over, you’re going to want to get another copy… the comic is only $3 and kicks ass! So, get on it and go get your copy HERE!
BTW, miss the interview that I did with Shawn? It’s available in our Episode 39.
Johnny’s got his list of best flicks of the last decade. Also, he is running a contest on his YouTube channel. Check the video out below. Also, don’t forget to visit his page to watch his past videos, subscribe to upcoming videos, and comment on them all! Here is his latest:
For those of you who have listened to Episode 47 of the show, you know that starting now we’re going to be changing our feed address. This means that we need everybody to subscribe all over again. I realize that is kind of annoying, but Sam and I are tired of dealing with limited disk space and bandwidth and have chosen to switch to a service where we won’t be encumbered with that anymore.
To subscribe to the new feed, click on the RSS or iTunes images in the right margin. If you need any help with anything, please don’t hesitate to email me at mike@cadaverlab.com for help.
Thanks to everyone who has already switched, and for those who will switch! I know this is a pain, but we appreciate your patience!
Prepare for three hours of junk crunching discussion of ghosts and otherworldly phenomenon. We discuss Peter Jackson’s The Frighteners, Guillermo Del Toro’s The Devil’s Backbone, and the Pang Brothers’ Re-Cycle.
We also do the usual idle chit-chat, voicemails, and tunes!
Tunes for this episode:
Warrant - Love in Stereo (Don’t worry… this was just added to add some context for a story)
Can’t get enough of horror podcasts from Salt Lake City? Neither can I!!! Well, if you ever find yourself tired of dealing with the constant stream of dick jokes and other such vulgarity from yours truly, definitely check out Diablo Cast! Diablo Cast has more of a radio-format. Meatwhistle from Die Monster Die (who also is associated with Dr. Cyclops Records and The World Horror Network) spins his favorite Horror Punk, Psychobilly, Metal, and other horror-related genres of music. Most of this stuff you’ve never heard of and it’s just waiting to be discovered by you! Meat introduces the tunes and gives out links and other bits of information vital to finding that hidden gem of music that you’ve been waiting for.
To subscribe through iTunes, go to Diablocast.com, click the “Listeners” widget, then click “Add to iTunes”… This will automatically open your iTunes application and will subscribe you to Diablo Cast! Diablo Cast will also be available in the iTunes Store shortly!
