We’ve received lots of feedback in response to our show
Horror in the Public Domain.I had a
great time researching places where I could find some great horror movies to
get my hands on.We have been privileged
to have a listener named Aaron to give us his take on some of the awesome packs
released from Milcreek Entertainment.Aaron is an expert in this subject so we thought that we’d share his
reviews on certain packs with everyone!
Just want to extend thanks to Aaron for sending this list
and his thoughts.These are all
Millcreek Entertainment packs (http://millcreekent.com/).
So, as I’m going back in time through the
power of awesome cult horror films, I’m learning more and more stuff all the
time. Never fall asleep, never trust old ladies, and if a man doesn’t go down
after 6 bullets, you should start running, but don’t bother going too fast.Another thing is that if you believe in
something, you can do whatever you want. Be unrealistically stealthy, kill
anyone you want, and learn how to drive a car…without ever getting behind the
wheel. Michael Myers, an inspiration to all of us.
Well, Sam and I just finished recording Episode 12 where we discuss
three of the 8 films released under the Ghost House Underground umbrella. We thought that a good topic to discuss in Episode
13 would be “Horror in the Public Domain”. We’re going to talk about what flicks can be found
in the public domain and how we got them.
Here is a quick snippet regarding what requirements have to be
met to be in the public domain from Wikipedia: “A creative work is said to be
in the public domain if there are no laws which restrict its use by the public
at large. For instance, a work may be in the public domain if no laws establish
proprietary rights over the work, or if the work or its subject matter are
specifically excluded from existing laws.” What this means is that we can legally give away
copies of these films. So that is what we’re
going to do!
We’re going to be discussing “The Satanic Rites of Dracula”,
“Bad Taste”, and “Deep Red”. Since there
is no law restricting us from distributing these films, we have provided links with
which you can download each of these movies. So go ahead, download these flicks and watch them
in preparation for Episode 13 of the Cadaver Lab Podcast!
Here they are (You may have to right-click the links and
choose “Save Link As” or “Save Target As”):
Have
you ever had a very sensitive part of your body slammed repeatedly in a
door? How about a piece of glass wandering around in your eye? I’ll
bet most of you have closed your mouth over a toothpick, long-ways so that the
ends jab into the top and bottom of your mouth, right? No? Well, if
you want to experience something just as painful, take the time to check out
Zombie Nation.
Again, Big Winters has provided us with a
perspective on a classic film that most of us can't give. He brings us a
perspective of a horror fan that saw Friday the 13th for the first
time 28 years after its release. Here is
a sample, click the “more” link to get the full review:
So….Mrs Voorhees is the killer? Yeah,
that’s right, I did just spoil the movie in the first line, but I’m pretty sure
I’m the last person here to of seen it.
If you haven’t seen it; go and watch it,
the effect is still the same. I had had this spoilt for me as well; apparently
I should have already seen this film, (come on guys, were not all out of school
yet) but I’m sure glad I have now.
Here at the Cadaver Lab Podcast, we hang out with some questionable characters.
Sometimes we even invite people to our place who look like death warmed over.
Other times, our guests exude nothing but class and style.
If you feel like you'd fit in here, please take a listen to our podcast! However, we'd appreciate it if you kept the cheesy one-liners to the professionals!
