Movie Rating System
When trying to decide upon a rating system for the movies that we cover here on The Cadaver Lab Podcast we decided that we want to come up with something practical. We bounced idea after idea off of each other but it was more difficult than we thought to come up with a rating system while still being consistent. Since our mood, frame of mind, and the amount of sleep we got last night can affect our reviews on a particular movie, we decided that it may be too hard to be consistent with an arbitrary scale in the long run. You will see what we came up with below.

  • Don't Bother
    • When we say don't bother... we mean it! Being the hosts of a horror-themed podcast, we've seen our share of terrible films. In fact, we've come to love some of those terrible films. However, every once in a while a film is presented that we just can't stomach. We put those films in this category.
  • AMC
    • This term is used to denote that this film is good enough to watch on television. Films in this category are typically forgettable, but not terrible. We figure that since the film had little impact on us that it isn't worth putting any money into renting or purchasing it. Also, since this film isn't first-rate that you won't mind watching it with all the good parts edited for television! We chose the title AMC because we love their Monsterfest once a year at Halloween.
  • Red Box
    • This label is used to signify a film that we'd drop some cash to rent. I'm not sure if everybody is familiar with Red Box, but it is a DVD rental vending machine placed at many convenient locations. However, the Red Box tag is used in place of any method you choose to rent your movies.
  • Buy
    • Movies in this category are ones that we liked so much that we want to have them in our collections. These films are worthy of multiple watches and/or checking out the special features section.
  • Bonesaw
    • We spare this honor for only the best of the best. Movies that are bestowed the mighty Bonesaw we hold high in the upper echelon of horror movie greatness.
